"'Achingly Beautiful': The Beach Boys bring good vibrations to Brown County"

Nashville, Indiana, saw a break from near-freezing temperatures this weekend as it welcomed a dose of California sunshine.

The Beach Boys performed twice Saturday at the Brown County Music Center. The setlist included classic number-one hits “I Get Around” and “Help Me, Rhonda.”

If you work in the CIB, you probably know Eli the café guy. Eli Baker started working in the cafe in October 2016 and got to know a lot of UITS employees while there.

"IU-led cybersecurity center wins 2019 Campus Technology Impact Award"

On August 1, the IU-led OmniSOC was announced as the 2019 Campus Technology Impact Award winner in the IT Infrastructure and Systems category. OmniSOC is a shared cybersecurity operations center, or SOC, for higher education. OmniSOC strives to help reduce the time from first awareness of a cybersecurity threat anywhere to mitigation everywhere for its members.

The reality is that for many of us, these childhood dreams don’t come true. But Jonathan Davenport, user support specialist at the UITS Support Center at IUPUI, is following his childhood dream.

"Mosaic Initiative celebrates 10th cohort of Faculty Fellows"

Indiana University’s Mosaic Initiative announced 12 new Faculty Fellows for its 10th cohort. Since its launch in January 2015, the Mosaic Initiative now has 115 Fellows across Indiana University.

The Mosaic Faculty Fellows program provides an opportunity for faculty to engage in active learning practices in their own teaching and with other Mosaic Fellows.

"Fun in the (hot) sun"

On Saturday, July 20, UITS employees and their families gathered on the CIB lawn for the third-annual family picnic.

With over 125 people in attendance, employees had the opportunity to mingle with their coworkers in a different setting, playing cornhole, listening to music, eating grilled food, and meeting one another’s partners and kids.

With so many stories about the novel coronavirus, it’s hard to keep track of when events were postponed or canceled, when classes moved online for the rest of the semester and when Gov. Eric Holcomb ordered Indiana residents to stay at home.
